Karl William Gagné has joined Sun Life Global Investments

Karl will be responsible for business development and Client relationship management for the Québec & Atlantic market.

Karl will liaise with investment consultants, group advisors and plan sponsors, working in collaboration with his GRS colleagues and other Sun Life affiliates to service our Clients and promote our offering.

Karl joins us from Manulife where he acquired a unique and diversified set of experiences and a holistic understanding of external dynamics with Clients and key partners. Most recently, as a Client Relationship Manager (CRM), Karl was responsible for supporting Clients in managing and optimizing their retirement plans while also overseeing the continuing service delivered to Clients in the large-case market. Before acting as CRM, Karl worked in Manulife’s institutional investment management (MIM) business where he applied his investment knowledge to support defined benefit Clients’ enhance the overall health of their plans. Before joining MIM, Karl was a financial analyst for Manulife’s Quebec Strategy & President’s Office where he helped develop the strategic plan and prioritize projects according to the potential for return on investment.

Karl holds his Bachelor’s degree from Laval University, an MBA in investment management from Concordia University and is a CFA® charterholder. He is a member of the Youth Chamber of Commerce of Montreal and founding member of Finance Montreal’s Youth Board of Directors.

On a more personal note, Karl likes to be active and often participates in marathons and Ironman events which aligns well with Sun Life Quebec’s recent announcement as partner of thematic runs in Greater Montréal, Estrie and Montérégie.
